Remember to ask your parents to sign you up for www.quizlet.com.  You may NOT sign up yourself and “lie” about your age.  You must be 13 to register for the site, so maybe your parents can register under their name and let you work with the website.

** About Quizlet.com – Quizlet.com is an interactive website designed to help students take control of their learning and studying in new and fun ways.  I showed the class how to use Quizlet today in class.  Students can use Quizlet to study for spelling, vocabulary, grammar, S.S., and Science tests.  Students enter the information they need to study themselves onto the website and then the website creates games with that information to help students study.

Ask your student about Quizlet – they will explain more! :-)

This was SUCH a spectacular (good Storytown vocab word, Ms. C.!) book!!

Please respond (this is optional of course) on either or both of the following questions:

** What do you think would be a good plot for the sequel of this book?

**  What did you think of the ending of this book?  Is there another way you would have ended it?

This Holiday Weekend :-)

Happy New Year to those who are celebrating Rosh Hashanah this weekend!

If you are observing/celebrating the holiday this weekend, you do NOT have to complete the homework for Monday.  You can if you want to, but it is not required.  The reading homework is actually not due until Tuesday anyway, but if you need an extension since the holiday is throughout the whole weekend, just have your parents write me a note and you can have until Thursday of next week to complete it.

Even if you’re not celebrating the holiday over the weekend and need more time to complete your homework, please just have your parents write me a note stating you weren’t able to complete your homework and need an extension.  This way, every one has enough time to celebrate the holiday and those who are not celebrating still have the same options for homework completion.

All of the homework will be due next week – I’m only offering a temporary extension to coincide with the holiday.

Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend!  I can’t wait to see  you Monday!

:-) Ms. Colbert
